The Soteria Defense Close Quarters Tactics – Rifle (CQT-Rifle) provides advanced understanding and techniques necessary to operate a rifle in a close quarters tactical environment. The M4 / AR15 style rifle is the US military service rifle and favored by law enforcement and various security forces worldwide. The 5.56 / 7.62 (.223 / .308) variants are all excellent choices for a tactical rifle. The capability of these rifles is entirely dependent on the shooter’s ability and training. In addition, you’ll learn immediate action drills transitioning from your rifle to your pistol. This course is a continuance of the Rifle Tactics Course (RTAC) and a significant progression of a shooter’s skills.
Requirements / Prerequisites:
- US Citizen
- Rifle Tactics Course (RTAC) or similar course mandatory – or LEO / Mil
- Pistol Tactics Course (PTAC) 1 or similar course mandatory – or LEO / Mil
- Lawfully configured rifle (California residents)
Learning Objectives:
- Firearms safety and safe rifle handling
- Understanding of tactical rifle capabilities and limitations
- Confirmation of zero of iron sights and sighting systems
- “Punch Up” shooting drills
- Stationary turns
- Shooting on the move
- Combat course of fire
- Reload drills
- Transitions from rifle to pistol
- Scored evaluation shoot
Equipment:
- Range appropriate clothing / range uniform (check local weather conditions)
- BODY ARMOR required
- Eye and ear protection
- Rifle with sling and 3 magazines
- Pistol, holster, 3 magazines
- 400 rounds rifle ammunition / 50 rounds pistol
- Notebook and pen
- Hydration and food (not readily accessible at the range)
- Shooting mat for prone fire optional
- Knee pads for kneeling fire optional
