4 Hour – Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC)

The Soteria Defense 4 Hour Tactical Casualty Care / Tactical Emergency Casualty Care provides the techniques and training to render medical aid as quickly as possible to victims of serious injury. This course includes core concepts from our California POST / EMSA approved courses. You will learn how to triage and treat injuries from minor to life threatening. The life you save may be yours, a co-worker, friend, or loved one.

This course focuses on the leading cause of preventable death and how to treat injuries when violence and trauma is the mechanism of injury. These skills are critical for anyone who is a “functional first responder” such as security services, California BSIS Security Guards, Executive Protection specialists. This also includes anyone who may have the need to provide immediate care for serious injuries including Concealed Weapon / CCW permit holders, firearms enthusiasts, and anyone who needs to upskill their training beyond basic and advanced first aid.

4 Hour First On The Scene “FOTS”

The Soteria Defense NAEMT – First On The Scene “FOTS” course teaches you to treat life threatening medical conditions prior to EMS arrival.

The average EMS and ambulance response time in California is 17 minutes, far outside a window of survivability for emergencies. National average response times are also extended and the FOTS program was developed to help people survive prior to EMS arrival. This is a “must have” program for everyone including anyone over 16 years old, parents, teachers, business owners, employees, safety and security team members, executive protection and security agents, family home offices, event staff, counselors, school staff, transportation workers, warehouse workers, and anyone who wants to learn how to save someone who might otherwise die without your help.

This course covers:

  • Scene Safety: Knowing how to be safe and knowing when you can or can’t help.
  • Activating the 911 system: Research indicates people are not calling 911 and not effectively communicating with dispatchers.
  • Hands-only CPR and AED: Research indicates “hands only CPR” is highly effective, and AED’s will save your life.
Heart attacks are increasing significantly in men and women, learn the warning signs and know how to help.
  • Administering naloxone: The opioid crisis including illegal drugs and prescription medication overdoses can be fatal in minutes.
  • Administering epinephrine: Allergic reactions leading to anaphylaxis can be fatal in 10 minutes.
  • Responding to life-threatening bleeding: Severe blood loss is fatal in minutes.
  • Penetrating chest trauma: Survival times increase by immediate treatment with chest seals.
  • Moving patients to safety: You CAN and SHOULD move injured people to safety and treat them safely.
  • Positioning injured patients: The recovery position helps injured people.
